Join Telin SJC to Strengthen International Infrastructure Development

PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia International (Telin) along with members of a global consortium of South-East Asia Japan Cable (SJC) announced the commencement of construction of submarine cable that will link the countries of Brunei, Mainland China, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Japan and Singapore, with an optional extended up to Indonesia and Thailand.
SJC consortium has signed an agreement with two companies of suppliers (supplier), ie, TE SubCom (Subcom) and NEC Corporation (NEC) to provide and install the submarine cable system, which is expected to be ready to operate in the second half of 2013.
Submarine cable has a length of the originally planned 8300 kilometers (km) and connecting the 5 countries / territories. However, the current long submarine cable SJC to 8900 km and can be extended up to 10,700 km, linking eight countries / territories that are supported by initial capacity of more than 15 terabits per second.

(A subsidiary of Google Inc..), KDDI Corporation, Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel), PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia International (Telin), Telemedia Inc. Pacific. (TPI), and TOT Public Co., Ltd.. (TOT).
Supported by these investors, SJC thus will provide greater bandwidth capacity for Asia to support future applications and next-generation technology.
